Clinical Education
The Southern Kentucky AHEC’s clinical education department facilitates clinical rotations for health professions students in our region.
This includes placement of students with preceptors, introducing students to the community, and coordination of housing as needed.
Placements are made primarily for students from the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville.

Clinical Rotations
On July 1, 2022, the Center for Interprofessional Health Education (CIHE) joined forces with the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) to establish the Center for Interprofessional and Community Health Education (CICHE), in a true community-campus collaboration to strengthen the development and distribution of an effective, diverse, and collaborative health workforce for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond.

Clinical Rotations
The University of Louisville Kentucky AHEC is a collaborative effort of the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center, the University of Kentucky Medical Center and eight regional centers. The AHECs work to improve the recruitment, distribution, and retention of health care professionals in medically underserved areas throughout the state commonwealth.
