High Schools

Since the year 2000, the Southern KY Area Health Education Center has hosted the HOT Expo for our local high schools.  This event is a hands-on opportunity for students to experience health careers. We encourage our exhibitors to bring hands-on activities and displays.
It is a fun fast-paced environment.

Who is the target? High school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with an interest in health care within Southern AHEC’s 15 County Service Region.

How does it work?  Each high school has ONE hour in the exhibit hall to discuss health career paths and participate in hands-on medical activities, discuss financial aid, and meet health care practitioners, college health professional students, and instructors.

This is a free event for exhibitors and high schools!
Transportation funds are available for high schools.
Please note we can only accept schools from our 15-county service region.
The Southern KY AHEC's 15-county service region includes Boyle, Casey, Estill, Garrard, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, Lincoln, McCreary, Madison, Mercer, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne, and Whitley Counties.
