The Regional Program Coordinator will be responsible for leading day-to-day implementation of the health career pathway activities supported by the Appalachian Regional Commission POWER Initiative within the Southern Kentucky AHEC’s 15-county service region. This includes designing, coordinating, and evaluating educational programming in collaboration with partner AHECs and institutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with UK St. Claire, Northeast KY AHEC, and Southeast KY AHEC to design and implement health careers pathway activities.
- Lead delivery of pre-nursing, pre-medical, pre-dental, and/or pre-behavioral health programs targeting students across the region.
- Coordinate with school systems, hospitals, clinics, and higher education institutions to support program engagement.
- Collect and manage data required for program tracking, evaluation, and ARC reporting.
- Support continuous improvement efforts through feedback collection, site visits, and stakeholder communication.
- Assist with expansion of the pre-nursing pipeline to include new school systems, hospital partners, and academic institutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, healthcare, or related field required (Master’s preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience in rural workforce development, health education, or program coordination.
- Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills.
